Mobile tented camp – Explorer Camps have been the mainstay for many years, owing to the; durability of the canvas dome tent, private ablution facilities, and gourmet menus.
Characterized by ‘home from home’ comforts through quality linen and bedding, accommodation in heavy duty rip-stop canvas tents, and superb meals, our 4 star tented camps leave little room to improve. The camp is broken down into villages of 15 – 20 tents, each village overseen by a dedicated village manager and crew.

Accommodation Tents & Ablutions
We use a 9m² canvas dome tent, also known as a bow tent, which has windows on 3 sides. Each tent features a private, but detached, ablution tent. A 30l warm water bucket shower provides ample water for a refreshing shower; adjacent to the shower is a chemical flush toilet. The tents have LED lighting, and are serviced daily.
Beds / Linen / Towels / Amenities
Each tent has 2 single beds (76cm or 92cm), separated by a pedestal, and high density foam mattresses. Quality cotton linen in the form of sheets, duvets, and blankets, and hypo-allergenic pillows, provide a comfortable and warm nights sleep. A bath towel, face cloth, and standard personal amenities completes our tent softs.
Hospitality Tents & Catering
The central fire pit will always be the focal point of any camp, and we position dining tents around this area. Relaxing in lounging chairs around the fire is the perfect way to start and end your meal. Program dependent, brunch, high tea, and dinner are served as buffets; menus are designed for each camp in consultation with our client. We set-up a bar in close proximity to the fire pit.
In addition to village managers, our camp managers are available throughout the duration of the camp. We are accustomed to an ever-changing program and quickly mobilize to react to program amendments.
